Additional Information

The Board of RYS is really excited about the upcoming Fall season. Early registration Starts April 22, 2013 and runs through May 31, 2013. There is a $20 savings for players age U10 (Under 10) and higher to complete early registration. Regular registration starts June 1st.

Registration fees this year INCLUDE a new, age appropriate uniform for all levels.

Players at all levels must arrive to practices and games ready to play soccer. Players are required by rule to provide and wear shin guards and soccer cleats (Pre-K & K aged players can wear sneakers). Referees will inspect cleats before every game. Baseball & football cleats are NOT approved.

Players must bring water for proper hydration and dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Soccer is played in all weather conditions. It is highly unusual to cancel a game for inclement weather unless conditions present safety concerns to players.

NO JEWELRY is allowed on the playing field. Earrings with tape over them are NOT allowed on the playing field. No casts are allowed on the field.

Pre-K Program

The program will run for 8 weeks. There will be 3 available Pre-K sessions. These will be scheduled morning and afternoon. Each session will be limited to 24 players. Once 24 players are reached the specific session will be closed.

Children need to be at least 3 years old to participate.  Exceptions may be made to allow (Pre-K/K) siblings to participate in the same session times.

Sessions take place at the Community Center on Glenwood Road.  Sessions will occur rain or shine.

RYS hires professional soccer trainers to help run this program with the assistance of parent coaches. The players will generally break into 2-4 smaller groups and conduct fun drills and games.  The focus is on having fun, developing a love of the game, and skill development.

RYS will also ask parents to step forward and become coaches for this level. The parent coaches participate in a fun drill/game or help oversee players with a drill/game. The professional coaches will clearly demonstrate activities and direct the parent coaches activities so no previous soccer experience is required.

As a parent, please consider volunteering for these sessions. Players at this age really enjoy it when their parent is a part of the experience and it helps remove any anxiety that some children may experience with this age group.

Kindergarten Program
